The Arizona Cardinals will be without Maxx Williams for a couple of more weeks at least.
The team announced today that they have placed Williams on injured reserve and in turn have activated KeeSean Johnson from the Covid-19/reserve list.
From the team:
“The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has activated wide receiver KeeSean Johnson from the Reserve/COVID-19 list and has placed tight end Maxx Williams (ankle) on injured reserve.”
“Johnson was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on September 11.”
Remember, NFL teams get unlimited IR spots to come back this season, but a player must spend three weeks on IR.
The team also made a practice squad move:
“In addition, the team has signed tight end Justin Johnson to the practice squad and has placed running back D.J. Foster (quadricep) on the practice squad injured reserve list.”
“Johnson (6-3, 245) originally entered the league last year with Seattle as an undrafted rookie free agent from Mississippi State. He spent his rookie season on injured reserve with an achilles injury he suffered in training camp. While at Mississippi State, Johnson played in 50 games (15 starts) and had 35 receptions for 357 yards and three touchdowns. He started all 13 games as a senior in 2018 and had 17 receptions for 238 yards and a touchdown. Johnson was released by Seattle on May 20.”
