The Arizona Cardinals heading into the offseason have three positions where there are major question marks just due to lack of players there, or talent that has not developed.

Cornerback, running back and wide receiver.

They have only Byron Murphy Jr. and Robert Alford at the cornerback position right now.

They have Chase Edmonds, Jonathan Ward and Eno Benjamin at running back.

Their wide receiver room is DeAndre Hopkins and a bunch of guys who haven’t done anything as they wait on Larry Fitzgerald’s 2021 decision.

That is why those three positions will likely be the most mocked before free agency.

Pro Football Focus dropped their most recent 2021 NFL Mock Draft and had the Cardinals addressing one of those positions.

16. ARIZONA CARDINALS: CB PATRICK SURTAIN II, ALABAMA

Despite being tasked with playing on an island more than any cornerback in the country, Surtain comes in at No. 1 at his position in PFF grade this year (89.7). Surtain allowed less than 15 yards in coverage in exactly half of his games played, and he never allowed any more than 60 in one outing. Perhaps the most underappreciated aspect of his game this year has been his discipline, as he has yet to commit a single penalty. Surtain has the size, physicality and press skills that teams covet in the NFL.

I think most people would be happy with Patrcik Surtain II as the pick. He gives the Cardinals youth at the position, a potential CB1, and brings a physicality that they have missed outside.

Based on the first 15 picks, I think Surtain would be the right call in this draft.
