The speculation on Deshaun Watson’s future is running rampant, but there’s been two teams mentioned that has to worry Arizona Cardinals fans.
Over the last week since the Watson saga began in Houston, we have heard speculation that the team that makes the most sense is the Miami Dolphins. They have the young quarterback in Tua Tagovailoa and draft capital that they likely could get their franchise quarterback without severely handicapping their future.
However, two teams in the NFC West have been mentioned and the thought of Watson there is frankly terrifying.
Most recently it was the Los Angeles Rams, but Turf Show Times does a pretty good job of explaining why that would seem near impossible for the Rams to pull off.
While unlikely, could you imagine Watson in LA’s offense with McVay pulling the string. Yikes.
The scarier proposition is that of the San Francisco 49ers making a play for Watson.
Jimmy Garoppolo has been spotty as a quarterback for the 49ers and Watson would give them not only an elite player, but perhaps the guy who would put them over the top.
Especially if they are able to keep their top defensive player in Nick Bosa.
While the Dolphins are the favorites, it would be great to just keep Watson out of the NFC West.
