The Arizona Cardinals biggest hole on the roster is clearly the cornerbacks heading into 2021.

It was probably the biggest hole on the roster in 2020, despite having Patrick Peterson and Dre Kirkpatrick manning the positions.

Pro Football Focus released their secondary rankings and the Cardinals were near the bottom.

22. ARIZONA CARDINALS

Arizona had veterans Patrick Peterson and Dre Kirkpatrick manning the outside spots, and each put together one of the worst seasons of their careers. Peterson ranked 83rd among 121 qualifying cornerbacks in coverage grade (53.1), and Kirkpatrick slotted in at 107th (46.1).

I am guessing the Cardinals only finished at 22 because of how good their safeties were in 2020.

The corner position is one of the biggest needs on the roster, if not the biggest heading into the offseason.

It has been basically ignored as they continued to invest early at inside linebacker, as Byron Murphy is their only top 75 pick at the position since Patrick Peterson and the team has never invested in a veteran until injury riddled Robert Alford, who never played a snap for the team.

Let’s see what the plan is this offseason.
