Arizona Cardinals beef up defense in newest 2021 NFL Mock Draft

Happy Friday one and all, we have made it.

The Arizona Cardinals pick 16th in the 2021 NFL Draft and have plenty of needs they can address.

Benjamin Solak of The Draft Network has just dropped his first mock of the year, a three rounder that has the Arizona Cardinals going heavy on defense.

Take a look.

16. Arizona Cardinals - Jaycee Horn, CB, South Carolina

Horn is excellent in press alignment, and if he’s going to succeed in the NFL, it will be with his physicality, press technique, and play strength. I am worried about his grabbiness and his transitions, and most rookie corners go through a roller-coaster first season, but the Cardinals don’t have much of a choice here. They need help badly.

48. Arizona Cardinals - Carlos Basham Jr., Edge, Wake Forest

79. Arizona Cardinals - Michael Carter, RB, North Carolina

Horn and Basham would be good fits, but Carter seems a bit redundant with who the Cardinals already have in Chase Edmonds and Eno Benjamin. Nine picks later he has Trey Sermon going and it makes much more sense for the Cardinals to get a big, two-way back rather than another undersized back.

Outside of that, I think this would be a fine draft for the Cardinals.
