The Arizona Cardinals made a bevy of moves this Wednesday morning.
From the team:
The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed safety James Wiggins to the active roster from the practice squad and has placed linebacker Ezekiel Turner (shoulder) and tight end Maxx Williams (knee) on injured reserve.
In addition, the team has designated offensive lineman Josh Miles (ankle) and defensive lineman Jordan Phillips (back) to return from the injured reserve list. Miles and Phillips can begin practicing and the team can activate each player to the 53-man roster at any time during the next 21 days or at the conclusion of the three-week period.
Wiggins (5-11, 209) was drafted by the Cardinals in the seventh-round (243rd overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Cincinnati and has been on the team’s practice squad after being released following the preseason. He was a second-team All-American, semifinalist for the Jim Thorpe Award and a first-team All-AAC selection in 2020 at Cincinnati after collecting 32 tackles, one interception, one forced fumble and one sack in nine games last year.
Wiggins will wear jersey #38.
Lets hope for the best for Turner and Williams, but getting Jordan Phillips back could be important in the next stretch of games.
