Arizona Cardinals sign Chris Banjo to active roster

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Los Angeles Rams Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals made moves on Monday after their big win over the Los Angeles Rams.

From the team:

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed safety Chris Banjo to the active roster from the practice squad and has released offensive lineman Koda Martin.

Banjo (5-10, 207) has played in the past three games with the Cardinals after being elevated from the team’s practice squad. A nine-year NFL veteran, Banjo has played in 29 games with the Cardinals after joining the team as a free agent in 2019.

Banjo will wear jersey #31.

In addition, the team has released offensive lineman Shaq Calhoun from the practice squad.

Banjo is a key special teams contributor and a smart, veteran presence. He likely will be taking the place of Charles Washington, and maybe even Antonio Hamilton who looked like he was injured during the Cardinals win yesterday.

We will see more in the coming days.
