The biggest freak of the 2021 NFL Draft season has emerged, and we knew it was coming.
Penn State edge Jayson Oweh put on a show at the Nittany Lions Pro Day.
Oweh is one of the top edge prospects in the 2021 NFL Draft but you wouldn’t know it from his combine numbers, where he tested more like a cornerback than an edge defender.
OFFICIAL numbers for PSU EDGE Jayson Oweh:
— Marcus Mosher (@Marcus_Mosher) March 25, 2021
6050, 252 pounds
4.36 40-yard dash (99th percentile)
39.5 inch vertical (96th percentile)
11'2" broad jump (99th percentile)
4.21 short shuttle (89th percentile)
6.83 3-cone (98th percentile) pic.twitter.com/76KFi22A6m
Oweh’s been a player we have seen talked about going in the Arizona Cardinals range, and we’ve discussed that he would be an ideal pick to take over down the line as the Cardinals top pass rusher.
While his workout numbers are beyond insane, his seven career sacks are definitely something that cause you to pause.
However, when a player has the athletic profile of Oweh, it’s hard to not to get excited about what the potential future looks like when he’s not thrust into an immediate starting position and has time to refine his game.
The question now, will Oweh even make it to the 16th pick to be an option for the Cardinals to draft or use as a trade down option?
