Arizona Cardinals go watch North Carolina running backs in person

For the Arizona Cardinals, one of the biggest question marks heading into the 2021 NFL season is the running back position.

While everyone knows the top two running backs in the class, Travis Etienne and Najee Harris in some order, there are a slew of talented running backs that will be available after.

Two of the better prospects and potentially top five running backs in this class are at North Carolina and had their Pro Day yesterday.

While the top brass for the Arizona Cardinals didn't make the trip, the running back coach for the Cardinals did and he got to see Javonte Williams and Michael Carter workout.

Williams and Carter both posted respectable numbers, with the question marks being easy to answer.

Williams weighed in at 212 pounds after being listed anywhere between 220 and 225 pounds. So, when he ran a 4.58 it wasn't a huge deal because of how he runs, but it did raise an eyebrow or two.

Williams is a dynamic, physical runner who measured out similar to Chris Carson and to be frank, he runs like Carson.

They run to and through contact with a violence rarely seen in the NFL anymore.

Carter is not a guy who is going to get 20-25 touches a game, but instead is a dynamic change of pace back in the mold of Darren Sproles or Tarik Cohen. He has incredible change of direction ability and will be a game changer if used correctly.

What do you think of the two prospects and their fits with the Arizona Cardinals?
