With J.J. Watt in tow, the Arizona Cardinals addressed a pressing need… talent.
Yet they may not have addressed a pressing need in terms of positions.
The Cardinals needed help along the defensive line, but no one expected this with Watt.
So, now that they have Watt what positions need to be addressed?
For starters, they need two or three cornerbacks, but that makes sense because they only have Byron Murphy Jr and Robert Alford on the roster.
However, they may not need to spend highly on the position if they get out of Watt what they expect. A great pass rush can help immediately with coverage issues.
They still need another edge rusher, but may not have to be Haason Reddick or Markus Golden. They could get a young, rotational pass rusher.
Maybe it’s on day two of the draft.
They may also need a nose tackle, as they only have Leki Fotu and Rashard Lawrence, but again… not pressing.
The one thing Watt won’t do is fix the offensive issues, but one step at a time.
