When it comes to winning now, that is king in the NFL.

There is very rarely a long-term plan that is put into place and executed by NFL teams anymore simply because the NFL doesn’t give head coaches and general managers that much time.

That is why when NFL.com’s Cynthia Frelund dropped her first 2021 NFL Mock Draft that looks at what teams should do now to win, it is interesting to see who she has the Arizona Cardinals taking:

16. Arizona Cardinals
Christian Darrisaw
Virginia Tech · OT · Junior

Darrisaw’s improvement from 2018 to 2019, and then to 2020, was the best amongst tackles in the FBS, which is even more impressive, considering the level of edge-rushing talent he faced.

It actually begs the question if that is what the Cardinals are looking at doing in the 2021 NFL Draft after listening to Sean Kugler and Steve Keim.

While they are not anointing Josh Jones as the starting right guard, they have mentioned his flexibility and that being important.

Does that mean if the team gets a shot at Darrisaw they could look to solidify the right side of their line and potentially have a young, dynamic and powerful right guard and right tackle combo?

It is fun to piece these things together in the 2021 offseason and definitely something to watch.
