NFL players who were franchise tagged in 2021 offseason

NFL: Super Bowl LV-Kansas City Chiefs vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL deadline for applying the franchise tag to players heading into the 2021 NFL offseason.

Now, the teams will have until July to negotiate a new contract, but some will just have the player play on this contract until the salary cap goes back up.

Here were the players who were franchise tagged by their teams, some may have been targets for the Arizona Cardinals.

Allen Robinson, WR - Chicago Bears

Chris Godwin, WR - Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Taylor Moton, OT - Carolina Panthers

Cam Robinson, OT - Jacksonville Jaguars

Brandon Scherff, OG - Washington Football Team

Leonard Williams, DT - New York Giants

Marcus Maye, S - New York Jets

Justin Simmons, S - Denver Broncos

The Cardinals would likely have been interested in Allen Robinson, Godwin, Scherff and Williams, but now they will move to other potential targets.

Does anyone on the list stand out or surprise you?

Cam Robinson is really the only big surprise to me.
