With the NFL Draft only weeks away at this point, we head into another 2021 NFL Draft scenario for the Arizona Cardinals.

Let’s take a look.

With the 16th pick up, the best names on the board:

Rashod Bateman, Rashawn Slater, Christian Barmore, Trevon Moehrig, Greg Newsome II, Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, Jayson Oweh and Kwity Paye.

I felt like that gives me a great shot to get one of these players in a trade down and the New York Jets offered the 23rd and 66th pick for 16 and 243. Got rid of one of those pesky seventh round picks.

Now, let’s take a look.

23 - Greg Newsome II, CB, Northwestern

Newsome fell and made it even sweeter. The Cardinals get a much needed cornerback, one with athleticism, physicality and an ability to play against the run.

49 - Pat Freiermuth, TE, Penn State

Freiermuth’s average draft position in Pro Football Focus’ mocks is 49.5... Wouldn’t it be sweet to nail two of the biggest need positions with their first two picks. Freiermuth is such a special talent and would give the Cardinals some much needed blocking and receiving oomph at the position.

66 - Javonte Williams, RB, North Carolina

Welp, this was a nice exercise. I don’t see how this works out in real life, but if the Pro Football Focus mock draft simulator wants to give, then I will take. For what it is worth, Williams’ ADP from the simulator is 64, so the Cardinals finding an early third round pick could be a fit.

What would you think?
