ESPN’s Bill Barnwell Proposes an Arizona Cardinals’ NFL Draft ‘Trade Down’ with the Titans in Round 1

Most Arizona Cardinals fans are proponents of the team trading down in the 2021 NFL Draft and acquiring more picks.

Bill Barnwell of ESPN does one mock draft of the year where he mocks a trade for every team and every pick.

For the Arizona Cardinals, I think fans would be all over this potential trade down.

“16. Arizona Cardinals

Cardinals get: 1-22, 3-85, 5-166, 2022 third-round pick

Tennessee Titans get: 1-16

The Cards have dealt away their third-, fourth- and sixth-round picks, so a trade down makes sense. The Raiders are a bit of a wild card when it comes to draft selections, and teams such as Washington and the Bears and Colts could be looking at offensive tackles, so I wonder if this is where the Titans would consider making their move.

Tennessee needs a right tackle after 2020 first-rounder Isaiah Wilson flamed out in spectacular fashion, and if Alijah Vera-Tucker or Virginia Tech’s Christian Darrisaw are still on the board here, this is where it could make its move.”

Cardinals only giving up 16 and get back 85, 166 and a 2022 third.

With 22 they could address cornerback (Greg Newsome), edge (Jaelan Phillips, Jayson Oweh, Azeez Ojulari), maybe even a player like Zaven Collins, Najee Harris or Travis Etienne.

I think this would be most people’s first choice unless one of four players are available at 16: Patrick Surtain, Jaycee Horn, Jaylen Waddle, DeVonta Smith.
