Trade up?
Trade up a lot?
That is what Peter Schrager of NFL.com has the Arizona Cardinals in his first mock draft of the 2021 NFL Draft season.
Schrager is a fan of the Cardinals and what they have been doing, and he thinks they can give Kyler Murray even more with a trade up.
From Schrager:
7 Arizona Cardinals (via Lions) TRADE
Kyle Pitts
Florida · TE
Pitts isn’t falling out of the top eight. Too many teams are intoxicated by him. I’ve got the Cardinals as aggressors — as they’ve been all offseason — with Steve Keim bringing in yet another weapon for Kyler Murray. Arizona gives up this year’s first-rounder, next year’s first and next year’s third to move up from No. 16.
Pitts is an absolute monster and potential game changer for any team, let’s start there. However, I am not sure the Cardinals, even in this “all-in” position are going to give up that much to move up.
Could the Cardinals move up? Sure.
Does Pitts fill a need? Absolutely.
However, it seems like a huge gamble. Of course the Cardinals whole offseason has been about gambles with veterans, so maybe it is the right move.
What do you think?
