Which day three pick are you expecting to make the most impact for the Arizona Cardinals?

The Arizona Cardinals had five picks on day three of the 2021 NFL Draft and that is five lottery tickets.

That is what day three picks really are, they are lottery tickets. Sometimes you get enough to get another lottery ticket (via trade or compensatory). Sometimes you get nothing ( let’s be honest most of the time). Every once in a while you get a big jackpot.

This year the Cardinals have five lottery tickets.

Here is how I see them playing out.

Jackpot - Tay Gowan: No, he won’t be a multi-time All Pro like Richard Sherman or the Tom Brady of cornerbacks, but I think he will be an excellent cornerback in the NFL. If you get a starter from a sixth round pick who is good, that is a jackpot.

Mini-Jackpot - James Wiggins: Wiggins is super intriguing. He is so incredibly athletic and his 2018 tape is day two worthy. He was hurt in 2019 and looked like he was hesitant coming out into 2020. I think he has a chance to be a key special teamer and eventually be a starter at safety or at worst a Chris Banjo type.

Getting your money back - Marco Wilson and Victor Dimukeje: Wilson is an elite athlete as well, who had good film as a freshman and works well in zone defenses playing down hill. I think he has a chance to become a good player, not as confident on Wilson as Gowan, but he’s got a chance.

Dimukeje has the chance to be a nice edge backup and special teamers. He could give the team a little something as a key backup within his first three years.

I am not sure what to make of Michael Menet simply because he fits the mold the Cardinals have taken for years, but are you giving up on Lamont Gaillard?

What do you think?
