Lorenzo Burns offers flexibility in the secondary for the Arizona Cardinals

COLLEGE FOOTBALL: NOV 28 Arizona at UCLA

With the Arizona Cardinals adding four undrafted free agents we need to get to know each of the players.

We started with a look at Cary Angeline, now we head down south to Tucson to get to know former UofA cornerback Lorenzo Burns.

From the team:

University of Arizona cornerback Lorenzo Burns (5-10, 183) appeared in 41 career games and finished with 191 tackles (142 solo), nine interceptions, 26 passes defensed, 2.0 sacks and two fumble recoveries. He was the Wildcats team Defensive MVP in 2019 as a junior after leading the team with four interceptions and seven passes defensed while also collecting 47 tackles. A Murrieta, CA native, Burns was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection last year and tied for the Pac-12 lead with five interceptions as a sophomore in 2017.

Burns profiles out as a flex safety, slot cornerback in the NFL, despite having played quite a bit outside at UofA.

He’s a bit undersized and tested only okay:

He is a scrappy player and loves to assist in the run game, which makes him an interesting fit as a special teamer. Can he add more?
