As we close out the 2021 NFL Draft we can start looking forward to the 2022 NFL Draft.

The first thing we get to know is how the 2021 NFL free agency period affected the 2022 NFL Draft in terms of compensatory picks.

Remember, NFL compensatory picks are a convoluted formula that no one understands.

Except for the fine folks at Over the Cap who even have an incredible explainer formula that you need to take a look at.

It really is a lot to take in.

Of course, we don’t need to understand the how, we can just understand the fact that as of now the Arizona Cardinals are projected to have three compensatory picks for the 2022 NFL Draft.

According to Over the Cap, the Cardinals are projected to have a compensatory pick for Patrick Peterson, a fifth rounder, and two seventh round compensatory picks, one each for Angelo Blackson and Dan Arnold.

Those picks with the Cardinals six picks they have as of now, they traded a 2022 fourth rounder as part of the package they swung to draft Marco Wilson in this year’s Draft.

Now the question… Will Steve Keim and Kliff Kingsbury be making the picks?
