It’s too early for this.
However, I like to see where folks slot the Arizona Cardinals in throughout the offseason.
That is why when Todd McShay dropped his first mock draft for 2022, I didn’t ignore it, I embraced it.
Lets take a look.
14. Arizona Cardinals
Sevyn Banks, CB, Ohio State
The Cardinals lost Patrick Peterson to free agency, and both of their starters outside — Robert Alford and Malcolm Butler — are on one-year deals. I did like the Day 3 selections of Marco Wilson and Tay Gowan, but I think Arizona could look at the cornerback pool next April. Banks has good size, length and speed.
I asked my ODBP co-host and resident Ohio State Buckeyes homer Justin Higdon his thoughts on Banks:
He’s their top veteran CB. Played through some injury last year. Has a knee issue that kept him out of spring. Should run in the low-mid 4.4s. 1 INT and 7 PBU in 8 games last year. The ppl around the program think he’ll be another 1st rounder.
Of course the question is, who will be making the pick? If the Cardinals finish with the 14th pick, barring injury to Kyler Murray, then will Steve Keim and Kliff Kingsbury be around to make the pick?
What are your thoughts?
