For the Arizona Cardinals the first day of OTA’s set the tone for the rest of the offseason.
As Walter so expertly explained the Cardinals are having a lot of fun and doing so because they understand they need to stay loose this offseason.
Think about the pressure on the other NFC West teams: The Los Angeles Rams traded for Matthew Stafford, the San Francisco 49ers traded up for Trey Lance and the Seattle Seahawks are trying to convince Russell Wilson they are going to win around him, to stay the course in Seattle.
The Cardinals are under similar pressure for their coach and GM, but the difference is the expectations.
There are none on the Cardinals. The expectation is they improved but are still the fourth best team in the NFC West.
That means the Cardinals approach needs to be different. The Cardinals are looking at things from the perspective that they just need to come in and take care of business and need to do so with zero expectations.
Being loose, having fun and winning football games. What a novel concept.
