One of the most bizarre stories in recent Arizona Cardinals memory has continued to unfold, but we still do not know much.
Today the team placed Malcolm Butler on the reserve/retired list officially and that means he will not count on the 53-man roster at this point.
Cardinals' CB Malcom Butler has been officially placed on the reserve/retired list.

Once Butler files papers for retirement he will be done, but until then he will not be a part of the team.
This is in addition to the team announcing another 15 roster moves on the day.
The Cardinals have a young cornerback room now, with Robert Alford being the veteran, with third year player Byron Murphy the next veteran guy.
This is a bit of a conundrum and while we wait for all the information to unfold, it is odd to see a veteran who was expected to contribute, maybe as the third corner, not even be on the team or roster if he finally does retire.
We will know more later, but for now Malcolm Butler is retired.
