The Arizona Cardinals continue to make moves along their roster, as they have activated cornerback Lorenzo Burns from the Reserve/COVID-19 list.
In a corresponding move the team released cornerback Tae Hayes who they signed in May for offseason camps.
If you are struggling to remember, Burns was part of the four person undrafted free agent class the Cardinals brought in this May.
Here was a quick primer from the team:
University of Arizona cornerback Lorenzo Burns (5-10, 183) appeared in 41 career games and finished with 191 tackles (142 solo), nine interceptions, 26 passes defensed, 2.0 sacks and two fumble recoveries. He was the Wildcats team Defensive MVP in 2019 as a junior after leading the team with four interceptions and seven passes defensed while also collecting 47 tackles. A Murrieta, CA native, Burns was an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection last year and tied for the Pac-12 lead with five interceptions as a sophomore in 2017.
Welcome back, Lorenzo and good luck to Tae.
