What We Learned from Arizona Cardinals Week 3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars

Slow starters?

Another week, another slow start. Okay, admittedly there’s not much to learn from this… or is there?

Maybe not actually, but it’d be great if things were a little less Cardiac Cards early on, ya know?

Not a one man show?

Hopkins wasn’t 100% this week, and normally that spells trouble for the pass offense… but Green and Kirk stepped up this week, combine that Kyler Murray’s continued growth… it might not be too crazy to think this team can continue to hang around near the top of the league’s pass offenses.

Speaking of…

Through three weeks, the Arizona Cardinals currently lead the league in total points scored, and are second only to the Las Vegas Raiders in total yards. Mind you, judging things purely by volume stats can be misleading…

But yeah, that’s pretty good! Mind blowing analysis - I know. There are kinks to work out, but if your strength lies with a stout passing offense, chances are you’ll hang around despite the mistakes you’ll make along the way,

Did I mention misleading numbers?

19 points allowed might look like a stout day by the defense - and don’t get me wrong, there were aspects of the unit that performed well. But it’s not every week you get the face down a rookie QB going through growing pains behind a banged-up offensive line. The middle of the defense in particular provides some concern, especially given the investment by the front office in that area.

Don’t look now, but there’s a burgeoning Stafford-led Los Angeles Rams on the schedule next week, and they’re sure to provide a more potent challenge. Can the defense keep it up?
