Antonio Hamilton signed to active roster as team places Charles Washington on injured reserve

NFL: Arizona Cardinals at Tennessee Titans Steve Roberts-USA TODAY Sports

The Arizona Cardinals have rewarded one of the more surprising players from early in the season, as they have signed Antonio Hamilton to the active roster.

From the team:

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced that the team has signed cornerback Antonio Hamilton to the active roster from the practice squad and has placed safety Charles Washington (hamstring) on injured reserve.

Hamilton (6-0, 195) has played in all three of the Cardinals games this season after being elevated from the practice squad. He originally joined the Cardinals practice squad on September 3 after spending the preseason with the Buccaneers. The 28-year old Hamilton is a five-year NFL veteran who has played in 60 career games (two starts), including appearing in all 16 regular season games last year with Kansas City and all three postseason contests with the Chiefs.

Hamilton will wear #33.

Hamilton has done a great job this season in limited roles and has earned this opportunity.

Congratulations.
