The Arizona Cardinals are getting healthy... until they are not.
Mike Garafolo of NFL Network is reporting the Arizona Cardinals will be placing veteran tight end Zach Ertz on injured reserve.
The #AZCardinals are putting TE Zach Ertz on IR, sources tell me and @TomPelissero. The three-time Pro Bowler, who has 27 catches for 187 yards and a TD this season, suffered a quad strain on Sunday. The plan is for him to return later in the year.

Ertz has been up and down this season.
He is not the athlete he once was, and coming off an ACL tear looks to have slowed even more.
However, when the ball is within his frame he was able to make catches. The problem has become, anything outside of the frame for Ertz has become a tough play for him to make.
This will open up a little more time for Trey McBride as he continues to be used about 50% of the time.
Now, with Ertz on the mend for at least four weeks, the Cardinals will need to get McBride more involved, even if it is just in terms of snap usage.
Let’s hope Ertz can recover and get some of the athleticism back when he comes back to finish out the season and potentially his career strong.
