Darryl Washington, Ray Rice, Adrian Peterson, Ray McDonald, and now Jonathan Dwyer. The NFL has a huge problem mounting, and something needs to be done that suspensions cant accomplish.

It has been a grand total of 55 days since I wrote this. I am very happy that there was enough pressure put on the NFL and Mr. Goodell to warrant revisiting the situation (thanks to TMZ for doing what 1000's of other people couldn't --make Roger Goodell admit he was wrong). What in the hell did he think went on in the elevator when someone admits he cold clocked his girlfriend hard enough to knock her out?

Then you have Adrian Peterson, one of the best running backs in the NFL. As a father myself, I will admit that he has the right to punish his child however he chooses, within the law. This is not disciplining your child. It is child abuse, plain and simple. I have spanked my child exactly once with something other than my hand (a spatula) and swatted his butt once with it and have never drawn blood like AP did . To this day I have not needed to do it again in order to have him respect me when he does not all I have to say is, "Do I need to go get the spatula?"

The NFL is a violent game. This is why Americans love it. It is violent, nasty and hard-hitting -- everything I personally love. This game I love has a huge issue. In the 15 or so months we have had the NFL games overshadowed by a man allegedly killing a person, then days later signing a $40 million contract and then killing someone else (supposedly). Players are beating their wives, children and random strangers -- too many to list but you can go here for a comprehensive list. Even owners are in trouble with the law.

All this adds up to one simple problem. The league provides the best doctors to get these players back on the field as soon a possible, but don't provide the mental heath needed when you take young men who have been put on a pedestal all their lives and give them multi-million dollar contracts. We can't shocked when these violent men, almost criminally violent, can't turn off the violent job they do and feel pressure from everyone from media, to the general public.

The great change that needs to be made is proactive mental health, starting with when rookies get into the NFL because someone needs to teach them right from wrong. They are 21, 22, 23 years old and you are about to hand them a paycheck every week that equals more than I make in a year.

Mr. Goodell, stop being reactive with these players. Be proactive.

Dwyer has been moved to the non-footbal illness list.

The Arizona Cardinals have already moved on from running back Jonathan Dwyer, who was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and more on Wednesday.

The team announced Dwyer was moved from the active roster to the reserve/non-football illness list, which, according to Arizona Sports 98.7, will end his season.

To replace Dwyer on the roster, the team re-signed running back Jalen Parmele, who was with the Cardinals through training camp and was among final cuts.

Arizona also cut ties with running back Chris Rainey, releasing him from the practice squad and replacing him with former Indianapolis Colts running back Kerwynn Williams.

Rainey has a checkered past that includes domestic violence. One can speculate that the decision to let him go would be to distance the team from anything close to domestic violence.

Head coach Bruce Arians addressed the media on Thursday and insisted the move was football related and not at all dealing with his history.

Parmele (5-11, 223) spent the preseason with the Cardinals until he was released in the team's final roster cut on August 30. He originally signed with Arizona on May 27. Parmele is a four-year NFL veteran who has played with the Baltimore Ravens (2008-10) and Jacksonville Jaguars (2012), appearing in 35 career games (two starts) with 187 rushing yards on 47 carries, 60 yards on seven receptions, and 1,078 yards on 43 kickoff returns (25.1 yard avg.). He entered the NFL with the Dolphins as a sixth-round selection (176th overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft out of Toledo. Parmele will wear jersey #34.

Williams (5-8, 198) was a seventh-round selection (230th overall) by the Colts in the 2013 NFL Draft out of Utah State. He played in one game with the Colts and was inactive for one other contest before spending three weeks on the Colts practice squad. He was then signed by the Chargers practice squad where he spent the final 13 weeks of his rookie season. At Utah State, he was an honorable mention All-America selection and first-team All-WAC as a senior when he rushed for 1,512 yards. Williams takes the place of running back CHRIS RAINEY who was released from the practice squad.

Here are some details we know.

There are more details with the Jonathan Dwyer arrest. Phoenix Police has released more information about the charges.

The information comes via Mike Jurecki.

Pointe Parkway

Victim #1: 27 year-old female

Victim #2: 18 month-old child

Arrested Person: Jonathan A. Dwyer, 25 yrs, no booking number available

On September 17, 2014 detectives from the Phoenix Police Department's Family Investigations Bureau arrested Jonathan A. Dwyer on allegations of aggravated assault for two separate incidents that are alleged to have occurred in late July. The incidents are alleged to have occurred at their home in southeast Phoenix on July 21, 2014 at 8:00 a.m. and July 22, 2014 at 4:00 p.m.. Shortly after the incidents occurred the victim left the state with their child.

A report was made with the Phoenix Police Department on September 11, 2014 and investigators have been seeking out-of-state medical records and conducting interviews with witnesses. Investigators developed probable cause and arrested Jonathan Dwyer in Tempe. He was interviewed by detectives and has admitted to the incidents however, denied any physical assaults. A search warrant is also being served at his residence.

Dwyer is being booked into the Maricopa County Jail on 1 count of aggravated assault causing a fracture, 1 count aggravated assault involving a minor, 2 counts of criminal damage, 1 count of preventing the use of a phone in an emergency, and assault.

According to other reports, as tweeted by Arizona Sports' Adam Green, Dwyer admits to the incidents, but denies the physical assault. The victim allegedly had a fracture as a result of the altercation and has provided the police with medical records as evidence.

A police spokesperson revealed that among the communications allegedly have occurred, there were text messages from Dwyer threatening to kill himself or hurt himself, including a picture of the knife he would use. The victim has provided some of these texts to the police as evidence. The police will seek phone records for more information.

In terms of the timeline of the events, the alleged assaults occurred not long before training camp began. The complaint was made a few days after the Cardinals' season opener. As a vested veteran, his salary for the season is guaranteed, unless he receives discipline that would keep him from being paid. According to Ian Rappoport, Dwyer's situation will be reviewed under the league's personal conduct policy.

The team moved quickly.

The Arizona Cardinals made a formal statement regarding the news of running back Jonathan Dwyer being questioned and subsequently arrested on charges related to a domestic dispute.

We became aware of these allegations this afternoon when notified by Phoenix police and are cooperating fully. Given the serious nature of the allegations we have taken the immediate step to deactivate Jonathan from all team activities. We will continue to closely monitor this as it develops and evaluate additional information as it becomes available.

Arizona moved quickly upon learning of the allegations, something that should be seen as a positive by fans, especially in light of recent events around the league.

Just when things were starting to calm down....another problem.

The Arizona Cardinals can apparently be added to the list of teams with problems with domestic violence. It is being reported by 3TV reporter Tyler Baldwin (in Phoenix) that Arizona Cardinals running back Jonathan Dwyer was arrested by Phoenix Police for domestic violence.

After the initial report of the arrest, it was later reported that he was pulled from practice and taken to Phoenix police headquarters for questioning.

CBS Evening news has since tweeted a confirmation that the arrest has in fact taken place. He has been charged with aggravated assault and preventing someone from calling 911.

The arrest would come at the worst time for the team and the league. Between the Ray Rice scandal, the Adrian Peterson child abuse situation and Greg Hardy's situation in Carolina, the league is reeling with abuse off the field by players.

Arizona has already had to deal with linebacker Daryl Washington. He is currently suspended, but under the league's substance abuse policy, but gave a guilty plea to aggravated assault on the mother of his child. He has yet to be punished by the league for the assault.

Thus far, the team has made no announcement or decision. It certainly could move quickly and place Dwyer on the exempt list that has been used for Adrian Peterson and Greg Hardy, preventing him from participating in team activities, but still paying him is salary.
